To get there: Motorway A9 to Monthey. Then take Val d'Illiez, direction Les Crosets but about halfway, turn right towards Champoussin.
Where to park: free parking under the roof of La Frachette.
I took route no. 1, which partly follows the same route as no. 6 going to the Croix de l'Aiguille.
The course is from the start, quite steep and the climbing wedges are not superfluous.
At the bifurcation of the routes , I went to the right. You will descend into the forest, to go up on the ski slope. Caution is therefore required when crossing it. After crossing this one, the official route takes you across the two small streams by the footpath but the signage being somewhat "absent" and the tracks not very well indicated, I walked along the grove of fir trees and joined the route des Croix and then I went up the official route to the restaurant "Chez Gaby". Once again, you have to be careful when crossing the ski slopes and I passed in front of the restaurant "La Ferme à Gaby".
Then descend along the route of the ski lifts to the bend in the Route de Champoussin (there is a car park and a restaurant "Le Virage"). From there, I joined the tennis courts and then crossed the Fayot torrent. The route then took me down to the place called "Sur Crête". From there, a climb, partly in the forest, will take you to the ridge leading to the covered area of La Frachette.
For my part, I am not a "fan" of this route, because you have to cross the ski slopes three times... The advantage is to have 3 restaurants on the route!
