Departure from the Marécottec gondola plus chairlift to the start of the Col de la Golette. 300 d+ carry on the last 100 meters. Useless spikes. Descend to the lake towards the dam.  Cross it and climb towards the refuge.

The refuge is well equipped but is not guarded in winter

For the descent there are 3 solutions:

1) Go up to the Col de la Golette but the descent on the Marécottes side is not great

​

2) Climb to Col d'Emaney but there is a critical passage on the first 50 meters

​

3) Descend directly by the 4x4 path to Van d'en Bas  which this year is really very dangerous. Cliff with ice. This solution requires leaving 1 car in Van d'en Bas and another in Les Marécottes
